‘Having dealt with patients for thirty five years, I have seen the psychological impact hair loss has on sufferers of all ages and all walks of life.
The effects of losing hair, or the prospect of losing hair can prove quite traumatic for males and females alike, to the point it takes over their lives and can become lifestyle compromising.
My main aim throughout my career has been to be honest and genuine with patients and to impart enough information so they become able to rationalise their situation, understand what is happening, and the science behind it.
Being able to understand, appreciate and empathise how a patient is feeling are key factors in the clinical experience.
Being in the privileged position of being able to offer effective, affordable treatments that improve the situation for many people has been very rewarding.

Christine Jones
Christine Jones has been a registered Member of the Institute of Trichologists since qualifying in 1987. She was appointed Assistant Medical Director of the Institute in 2007 where she was an active board member until retiring from the board in 2016.
Christine works closely with regional Dermatologists and has lectured to regional dermatology rounds on hair loss and associated subjects. She is a member of the European Hair Research Society
In the course of clinical activity Christine advises and manages patients suffering from many different types of hair loss, liaising with general practitioners, dermatologists and other specialists such as endocrinologists.
Christine works alongside Dr Bessam Farjo, leading world class surgeon in hair replacement surgery of the Farjo Hair Institute and Professor Fahmy Fahmy, leading expert in plastic and cosmetic surgery and recommended provider of aesthetic services. She also works with Freyja Medical, expert private dermatology referral services eg. scalp biopsy, mole assessment.

Will Minoxidil irritate my scalp?
Our Minoxidil is formulated with the best pharmaceutical agents and as a result is unlikely to cause irritation. There is a rare chance a person will be sensitive to the product.
How easy is Minoxidil to use?
Minoxidil is easy to use and we supply written instructions with each order. It dries very quickly onto the scalp and is non-greasy.
Is Minoxidil right for me?
Minoxidil can be used for genetic hair loss in males and females and has to be used consistently for three to six months. If improvement is occuring, it then has to be continued.
Can Minoxidil be used on other types of hair loss?
Yes it can be used on temporary hair loss such as Alopecia Areata. Once regrowth has occurred it can then be stopped. It must be remembered however, that spontaneous regrowth can occur naturally in these types of hair loss and improvement may not be due to Minoxidil.
Why do I have hair loss?
Sadly many people experience hair loss and there are many different types. Unfortunately we cannot diagnose over the phone or by email. If you are unsure as to the cause of your problem, you need to seek advice from a professional. I recommend the Institute of Trichologists.
Can I colour my hair when using Minoxidil?
Yes you can continue to colour your hair but I recommend you do not use Minoxidil the day of your colour procedure.
What % strength is right for me?
Minoxidil is available without prescription in 2% and 5%. I recommend using Minoxidil twice daily. Most people are able to use both strengths without issue but some people elect to start with 2% and then progress on to 5% after two to three months.
Can I use volumising shampoos?
Because volumising shampoos leave deposits on the hair and scalp which provide the cosmetic,volumising effect they can inhibit the uptake of Minoxidil. There are a few volumising shampoos however that are compatible with Minoxidil use and you should find these online from other sources.
Do I need to use other products advertised to improve my hair?
In my opinion there are very few other products on the market that are as effective as Minoxidil. Very few products have been trialled and tested to the extent Minoxidil has. You need to be wary of claims made by companies who state you will regrow a full head of hair. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!
Can I use it whilst pregnant & breastfeeding?
I always advise against use in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
